The city of Brisbane, is the capital of Queensland. It is located in the south east corner of the state and lies immediately between the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast. it is connected to both via a motorway system. Brisbane will have holiday accommodation packages and specials available for visitors at various times of the year. Brisbane lies on the banks of the Brisbane River and on the shores of Moreton Bay which, between them, provides Brisbane with a fantastic aquatic playground.

The Brisbane CBD is a popular area to stay and has many international standard hotels. Close to the CBD is the Southbank precinct, which is walking distance to the city. Here you will find many attractions such as the Queensland art gallery, the Queensland museum, the performing arts center and the exhibition buildings. These are surrounded by plenty of accommodation and an excellent range of restaurants and cafes. Suncorp Stadium and "The Gabba" cricket ground are also nearby.

On the Seaward side of Moreton Bay are Moreton Island and Stradbroke Island. These two sand islands are absolutely magnificent with their sweeping ocean beaches, picture perfect lakes and rainforest. Every tourist coming to Brisbane should visit these special places. Both island have beautiful resorts that are only a short ferry ride from the center of Brisbane. There is magnificent wildlife to see and wild dolphins that come to Tangalooma every night to be hand fed by the tourists. To the north of Brisbane is Steve Irwins fabulous Australia zoo which continues to be run by his family. Little Bindi, Bob and mum are often in attendance. It is a fantastic destination for a family day away from the center of the city.

To the south of the city, the beaches and theme parks of the Gold Coast are within easy reach. It is only about an hours drive along the motorway and public transport is also available. Brisbane, although mostly a corporate destination, can also be a great place for a holiday. Brisbane holiday specials and fantastic packages including accommodation can sometimes be accessed.
