Rainbow Beach is the northern most resort town on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. it is famous for a number of reasons. The beach itself is magnificent and it is one of the few places in Queensland where you can drive your 4WD vehicle on the beach itself. it lies just south of Fraser Island and many tours that go to the island leave from Rainbow Beach and access the island via the barge at Inskip point.
