The Southport region takes in both the commercial center and the Southport Spit region. Holiday specials and package deals are often available here. The region is one of the Gold Coasts most popular tourist destinations as it is the hub of aquatic activities on the Gold Coast and the place where tourists gather to take tours to see the whales, go fishing or join a floating restaurant for a fantastic meal. The commercial center is located on the western side of the broadwater and there is also a wide range of holiday accommodation available here. Most of it can be found fronting onto the waterfront itself, which makes it a prime holiday destination. Southport is just north of the major holiday suburbs of Surfers Paradise and Main Beach and is an ideal alternative. When the slower seasons are on, there is useually some excellent Southport specials on offer and some of the cheapest holiday deals and packages, so remember Southport when you are looking for Gold Coast accommodation.
